Are you the new project or team leader, by default or by accident? Were you just appointed to the position, or taking it on because nobody else will? Are you looking for practical approaches that have been tested in real projects?
Wherever you fit on the project management spectrum, the St. Edward’s University Project Management Program has offerings designed for you. We provide you with the concepts you need to know, and we help you develop the skills you need to tailor a targeted approach for your projects. You’ll learn to adapt industry best practices to provide business value to your organization. Whether you work in development or operations, with project management, program management, or portfolio management, these offerings are for you.
We offer courses in the following areas:
- Project Management Evening Certificate Program
This certificate program guides professionals in any field who need to manage or lead projects or operations using flexible, tailorable methods addressing what matters: RESULTS. The program empowers and educates through multiple learning channels including direct team-based project experience, best practices discussion, adapting processes to fit every situation, lectures, exercises, graphics, homework, provided and tailored templates, and frequent presentations complete with multiple feedback channels.
Each real-world homework assignment is designed to bring experienced professionals through at least one full project life cycle. Our approach reduces the forms, processes, and other low-value activities, allowing practitioners to focus on actionable efforts leading to immediate improvements in team and process performance. Attendees experience effective discussions leading to quick consensus and planning for risk and variance outcomes that enable fast and low conflict adjustments to processes and priorities.
Participants work in teams to perform key project processes, including creating an integrated project presentation that serves as a best practice template and addresses one of the biggest challenges leaders face: motivating others to perform unfamiliar processes. This focus fosters higher levels of accountability. Each attendee brings back real-world, proven templates and processes to apply immediately on the job. In addition, the course includes one complementary PMP Exam application review and one on-the-job document or process review under non-disclosure.
