 SP3 Group, Inc., a human resources solutions firm based in Austin, announced today that they have been selected by the St. Edward's University Professional Education Center to develop a human resources training curriculum for non-HR professionals.

The curriculum is specifically designed for non-HR professionals including managers, supervisors, business owners and anyone in a leadership role within an organization who needs to gain a better understanding of HR practices and procedures.

Initial courses will include: Regulatory and Legal Compliance, Effective Employee Retention, Optimizing Workforce Productivity and Hiring for Success. Plans for additional topics, web-based training, a certificate program and CE credits are also in the works.    

"Our primary purpose is to develop training which will enhance an individual's ability to contribute professionally and/or managerially to their organization's internal HR functions," said Julie Rachui, managing director of SP3 Group. The Human Resources field has changed dramatically in recent years and the complexity of HR management continues to increase. Human Resources has become more strategic with HR directors more closely tied to financial business metrics and bottom-line results. This shift in capacity has forced many HR professionals to delegate traditional, less-strategic HR functions to others with little or no formal HR education or training.  

In a business world of legal exposures, regulatory compliance issues, performance effectiveness concerns, workforce retention and other HR issues which impact revenue and cost, it's imperative that business owners employ managers trained in utilizing basic HR practices to reach objectives of individual and organizational success, said Rachui.
